Chinese Green tea Tea has always been a "family drink" in many countries. The Chinese traditionally has tea with the whole family after the dinner. Tea is a magic bullet that keeps family together. Drink tea with a meal is not considered appropriate, although many Chinese restaurants serve tea with meal. In fact, the Chinese serve tea after the meal and not with the meal. Afternoon tea is a British tradition. Afternoon tea offers an opportunity for people to invite friends, business associates and yes, even the enemy to have a friendly chat. During the summer time, afternoon tea is usually an outdoor event. What afternoon tea offers is actually a healthy social event that bond people together.
Chinese scholars originally considered tea as a medicine. Today, scientists are investigating tea in prevention of heart disease and cancer. The natural compounds in tea that may prevent cancer of heart disease are called antioxidants (or flavonoids).
Many researches in teas have shown promising data in terms of heart disease and cancer prevention. Recent study also shows that teas may prevent stroke. In addition to the disease prevention, tea is also believed to have restorative effects. Regular black, green and oolong tea contain approximately 1/2 of the caffeine as a comparable cup of coffee.
The green tea and black tea have been studied intensively in North America, while the study of Oolong tea has been done intensively in Japan and China. Basically, research shows that any tea derived from the leaf of a warm-weather evergreen known as Camellia sinensis has similar cancer-fighting properties. The research of Oolong tea in Japan also shows that the Oolong tea is one of the best natural "slim tea". The green tea is best known for prevent heart attack. The study by Colorado University in the US shows that the elements of tea in fighting off cancer is called "polyphenols" and, regardless of the processing method, all teas contain "polyphenols" (reports published by Pat Kendall, Ph.D., R.D., Food Science and Human Nutrition Specialist, Colorado State University Cooperative Extension,June 21, 2000). The reports in benefits of tea are being published by the researchers in great deal. Thus far, things are looking good in tea. The latest research reports indicate that the green tea can prevent "Rheumatoid Arthritis". Many women spend a great deal of monies just to loose weight and, slow down the aging process. In many cases, the monies were wasted and, the health was compromised. The most effective and economic way to loose weight and to slow down the aging process is to have a few cups of teas every day (no sugar and milk). Unfortunately, people just don't see the scientific evidences rather, they listen to Ad's that promise everything that they can never deliver.
